Wow. That's sad.Looks like the Chinese government needs to have an educational campaign to show the Chinese citizens that using condoms is not a bad thing but rather a very good thing.
I've been living in China for two years now and condoms are available in all the supermarkets at checkout. But I'm told that this is relatively new - that just a few years ago, 2002 or so, you could only purchase condoms at adult stores. The government did a big push to have them available in public places. There is a view that only "bad people" use condoms. This is just information I have been told locally.

They have done that for several years now to turn the public attitude around.
